Landscape Lighting · Paths, steps and gardens

Outdoor lights, wired by a licensed electrician.

Path lights, step lights and garden lighting, on the right wire, buried properly, and fed from a proper outdoor circuit. On a high-end job the lights are the biggest cost, so they should go in once and last.

An electrician, not a landscaping crew

A lot of landscape lighting goes in with a landscaping crew and no electrical license. John does it as an electrician: the right wire, a proper outdoor circuit, and the power side done to code. If that matters to you, he is the call.

What landscape lighting covers:

  • Path and walkway lights
  • Step and stair lights
  • Garden and tree lighting
  • Lighting on the house, the patio and the deck
  • The transformer and the outdoor circuit that feeds it
  • Timers and controls

Plan it with the patio

If a patio, a walkway or a garden is going in, the wire goes in first. Call before the pavers go down.

Questions about landscape lighting

Should an electrician install landscape lighting?
The lights run at low voltage, but they are fed from an outdoor circuit and a transformer. A licensed electrician installs that power side to code, and John does the whole system so one person answers for it.
When should landscape lighting go in?
Before the pavers, the walkway or the planting. The wire goes in first, so call while the project is still being planned.
Can you add lighting to an existing garden?
Yes. Path lights, step lights and garden lighting can be added to a finished yard, with the wire run to disturb as little as possible.
