Low Voltage · Sonos, data and racks
Sound, network and racks, wired like the rest of the house.
John does a lot of Sonos systems and low-voltage work: data lines to the rooms that need them, the rack where the network lives, and the power behind all of it. The same standard as his line-voltage work: neat, labeled and done once.
Wire it while the walls are open
The best time for speaker wire, data lines and a rack is during a renovation, before the walls close. It can still be done afterwards, with more fishing and patching.
One customer had John update his network out to the backyard. In his words on Google: "Plenty of bandwidth for 100 devices!!!"
What low voltage covers:
Sonos and whole-house audio- Data lines to rooms, offices and TVs
- Equipment racks and server racks, with power to them
- WiFi coverage for the house and the yard
- TV mounts with the power and cables run in the wall
- Every run labeled, so the next person knows what is what
One trade for power and data
When the same electrician runs the power and the low voltage, the rack gets the circuit it needs and the speakers get the outlets they need. Nothing waits on another trade.

- Does an electrician install Sonos?
- John does. He installs Sonos systems and the wiring behind them, and he runs the power the equipment needs at the same time.
- Can you run network cable in a finished house?
- Yes. It is easiest during a renovation, while the walls are open, but data lines can be fished into a finished house too.
- Do you set up equipment racks?
- Yes. John installs equipment racks and server racks for homes and offices, with labeled data runs and a proper circuit to power them.
